Microsoft has dropped hints that PC and Xbox One cross-play may be on the cards in the future, but has not committed. Yudintsev said Microsoft refuses to allow cross-play so that it can certify game servers to ensure a "good experience" for all players, but that cross-play is essential for games like War Thunder because the install base of PS4 and Xbox One alone can't supply enough players. "Microsoft is not allowing cross-play completely which means cannot be on Xbox One," Gaijin CEO Anton Yudintsev told Gamespot. Just my thoughts.Microsoft won't allow cross-play with PC on Xbox One, which is why War Thunder won't be making its way to the console, developer Gaijin Entertainment has said. I know a lot of the top tier PS4 guys would bless this and move to playing on the PS4 only server and switch back to the cross platform server when things got slow. Once again I'm not saying have PS4 only I'm saying have the option to play with PS4 only players while still being able to have the ability during non-peak hours to play cross platform. I'm sure there are plenty of PS4 players now to play with at all levels maybe with the exception of Tier 5, but all other levels the USA PS4 players (which had the largest influx of players onto the game) should be tiered up to by this point. I think if the game is the same for all players as they state it is then allow PS4 players "THE OPTION" to play with other PS4 players. PC players that is no where near the objective (unless you're talking summer madness LOLOL) where players will shoot their own mother down for the opportunity to get to the top 3 spots on the leaderboard and get the win. There was a real objective of winning the match. I honestly think it was a totally different game before cross platform for PS4 players. Having the option to play with either group allows me to be able to play with PS4 players during peak times and cross platform during non-peak times. I personally don't think they should end cross platform, but rather give me as a PS4 player the option of playing with PS4 players only or cross platform. My one question is that if PS4 players are ever relegated to a separate server and (if you ever get into a game) you still get shot down/blown up what excuse are you going to use then? My game improved immensely after looking at some of long5hot's tutorial videos showing how different planes can be used and which tactics to use to keep yourself alive (diving into a furball every match strangely didn't appear). A good PC player is arguably better than a good PS4 player due mainly to the extra year's experience they have and the fact they have learnt about combat maneuvres and different aircraft's strengths and weaknesses. I haven't had any real issues competing against PC players as the average PC player is just as bad/good as the average PS4 player. If it ever did happen I would abandon WT PS4 for PC so I didn't have to sit for an hour waiting for a game of AB aircraft. I couldn't be bothered typing my reasoning in my earlier post as it has all been said before. In this game, you are ALWAYS learning.Īnd yeah, the whole late spawning/respawning is a big bag of poo. This game is much like driving a car - you can learn the basic skills to control the vehicle but you need the ongoing life experience of driving it constantly in order to refine your skills and make you a better driver. It will always be a catch-up for PS4 players BUT I can hold my own in a match now, I can kill more than I am killed (and mostly PC players too!) and I will often finish in the top 5, usually at least once a week I'll top the leaderboards. The higher level PC player has been at this game for over 2 years, so have a far better understanding of tactics, flying skills etc than we ever could. One thing I noticed when I first started playing (in era 3 planes) was how more easily I was getting shot down, but also getting kills. It was withering away before crossplay and would wither away again. You look at how many battles there are now with crossplay - almost as many as there were PS4 players!! Sure, release in the US will have upped the numbers a lot but there probably isn't the community size to maintain a PS4 only section. I've been playing this game on PS4 since December last year, and the most players we ever had online was 1900 in around 40 battles. I feel your pain, I really do, but this thread here is pretty much asking your question for you.
